Restaurant Žolnir has a long-standing family tradition and is embedded in an idyllic environment with rich historical and cultural heritage. It got its name from Jurčič's novel Kloštrski Žolnir, in which the main character, a forestry engineer – whom the locals called Žolnir, falls in love with a beautiful girl from Kostanjevica, named Katica. It is written in historical sources that this engineer was the famous Josef Ressel, who worked as a forester in this area. At the same time, he also invented the famous ship's screw here, which he tested on the Krka River.
